CHA Day 3

Hi Everyone! Today was a busy day at CHA. Here are our hightlights of the day...

Fawn: Anna Griffin - she is so happy that I decided to carry this line again (she would like you to buy some so she doesn't feel like she led me astray).

Katie: Photo op with Donna Downey (she practically ran to Donna down the aisle).

Chris: We R Memory Keepers Album assortment - just wait 'till you see how many albums we'll have in stock now!

I'm in the process of downloading Fawn's 821 pictures off her camera since she filled her card and wants to take more photos. So I'm going to use a few of her amazing photos to share some of our day with you. We'll post again tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are some photos of other highlights from our day, including: bumping into Suze Weinberg on our way into the show (never mind that my eyes are closed - aside from that it's a good pic, right?), David Tutera (the wedding guy - Fawn saw him in the Darice booth), Fawn with Ali Edwards (haven't seen her at a CHA show in a while), the girls from G45 (not the most flattering photo, but you get an idea of how cool their booth is - they all dress in clothing matching their new lines), Fawn & Katie with Tim Holtz, and again with Amy Tan (in her American Crafts booth setup), the girls with Donna Downey, Katie with Elizabeth Kartchner (for Liz M., we're thinking of you), a group shot in the Creating Keepsakes booth, and me - negotiating with the guys at My Mind's Eye (we're working hard for you). CHA Day 2

Our day started out much more relaxed than yesterday (with a couple more hours of sleep, as well). Our hotel has a great free breakfast, by the way, which I love. Anyway, when we got the convention center this morning, we heard screaming from a crowd inside (which reminded us that we forgot to look up the info for a flash mob going on this morning). We headed in to see the flash mob, and caught half of it - set to She's Crafty by the Beastie Boys!

When the doors opened (after bagpipers played, which always kicks off the show), we headed to our self-assigned areas to do make & takes, turn in orders and meet with sales reps. The three of us hardly saw each other all day, but we all got to see and experience different things (which we're all sharing right now). Now, after our Chinese food finally arrived, we have a few catalogs to pour over, then it's time to hit the hay. We'll hopefully have more news tomorrow!

First Day of CHA

Our trip to CHA started out early this morning. We headed to the airport at 5:30am, and had a layover in Denver (brrr). We finally arrived in California to sun and palm trees (gotta love the change of scenery). We hiked over the Downtown Disney for a little shopping and sightseeing before attending a couple pre-show events tonight. We always run into some great people each time we come out... Some good friends and some new ones.

We cleaned up at one of the events we attended tonight, and will be shipping home our winnings since they're too large for our bags (and the show hasn't even started yet). We are exhausted, so we're going to save our show floor planning for the morning, and we'll fill you in more then. Stay tuned!

Well, Fawn beat us out to California. She went out a couple days early to take advantage of some classes Prima was offering. Here's a picture she sent of the hat she made there... pretty blossomed out, right?! It only makes me more excited about the show. We'll keep you posted when we find cool new products and let you know what our show experience is like live from CA!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and that means it's time to start thinking about how you can make this holiday unique. Gather a few special goodies (some sugary, sweet cookies for your Sweetie perhaps?) and then join me for a quick class where we'll make cutest little boxes around. Using just 5 pieces of paper we'll make two paper boxes (3 1/2" and 4") in a Valentine's theme. Tuesday, February 7 from 6-7 pm. - hope to see you then. It's also why I like the new line we just received from We R Memory Keepers. It's not a boy line, but Good Day Sunshine is a mix of blues, greens and orange. It's the perfect pallette for Spring (yes, it's around the corner).

Bead Inventory Available for Sale in Lots Now

Those of you who were asking about the bead inventory, we now have it available in lots at wholesale prices. We are no longer carrying beads and jewelry-making supplies, and we're closing them out in bulk lots. Some of the products we're selling include Jolee's Jewels Swarovski crystals and findings, Beadalon findings, tools and wire, Blue Moon collections, findings and tools, strands of beads, pandora-style beads, loose stone beads, sterling silver components and more. Prices of the lots range from about $30 to over $800, and vary in quantity. You can view the bead lots during business hours at the store.

For St. Patrick's Day paper, that is! When I place orders, I have to plan ahead for the upcoming seasons. Wow, wow, wow! That's all I can say about today. I could not have imagined that many people coming out for our Grand Re-Opening Celebration today! Between the full house of croppers, Power Scrappers, shoppers and people who just stopped in (and weren't sure what they walked into), we were busier than ever. The huge Costco cake was gone in under an hour, and the Smash photos were a hit! I just want to thank everyone who stopped in today. We truly appreciate your support, and we're so happy you like the new digs! Be sure to spread the word, as we know there are so many who haven't seen the remodel yet. Those who stopped in today already know, but I can spill the beans now. Scrappy Chic has expanded! We have moved up into the unit closest to 8 Mile, and are working hard to get most of it done by the weekend. We've spent the past two days (with a crew of almost 20 each day) packing, stacking, moving and then doing just the opposite again. Aside from a couple snags with shelving and building, we're moving along nicely. We can't wait to share our finished product with you! So, as I mentioned before, if you stop in before next week, please excuse our dust. We think you'll like what's in store. See you soon!

We're Carrying a New Line of Markers!

I feel like I've been a bit lax in my blogging, but the Black Friday weekend just kept us busy. We were so happy to see so many customers showing their support for Small Business Saturday - what a great turnout! But on to important business... what's new?! We have the long-awaited Christmas line from October Afternoon, as well as their Farmhouse collection. I love them both!

We have a new themed series of papers and stickers from Reminisce (a little bit of this, a little bit of that). There are also some additional new dies and embossing folders from Tim Holtz and Sizzix!

On another note, we received some of our Black Friday promo items late (this always happens with something, right?) and they are on sale. We have about 20 Cricut cartridges available at $19.99 each, some of which we've never carried before. We also have an assortment of American Crafts patterned D-Ring 12x12 albums on sale for $13.99 (regularly $24.99). There are a few of the promotional items left over from the weekend as well that we left out for our bargain-hunters (adhesives, Tim Holtz Configurations boxes, albums, trimmers, etc.).

New Trend - Washi Tape

Sometimes new products or trends are introduced and they are just not my style (woodland animals?).... other times I catch on a go overboard (banners - you can never have enough!)... but this time I am just late to catch on. Washi tape seems to be everywhere I look these days!!

A about a month ago I was scrapping at the store and Angela talked me into some of the new Hanbly washi tape - and I am so glad she did!

I used jut a little of the brown wood grain tape here....

Then I layered the wood grain with the turquoise words under the title here...
Here I used to to add a pop of color behind a bunch of layering (pink pattern on the left)...

And again here to affix my photos to the page...

We had an amazing turnout yesterday for our Golden Ticket Giveaway! There was a line of wonderful people before we even opened. When I checked in last night, there were a few candy bars left, but not sure if there will be any left this morning. Don't you just love Fall? Ah, it's my very favorite time of the year. Cool, crisp days. Yummy apple cider. Pumpkins to carve and bake. Kids back in school. And fabulous new scrapbook paper like this Forever Fall line by Bo Bunny. There are 10 wonderful, double sided designs that lend themselves perfectly to off-the-page creations. Using only 4 pieces of paper, some leftover buttons, and a bit of baker's twine, I made this wreath - in under two hours! Tim Holtz's Sizzlit Paper Rosette dies cut and score the rosettes in minutes so that all you have to do is glue them together, add a few buttons, and adhere them to a styrofoam wreath. Quick and easy - just the type of project I love! Can't wait to make another. For Christmas this time? The toughest part is deciding which paper to use: Bo Bunny's Father Christmas line or maybe Little Yellow Bicycle's Wonder and Wishes or how about Crate Paper's Peppermint collection? Decisions, decisions.

There is word that Ranger is making more of the Limited Edition Fall Ink Pads that Tim Introduced last week. We have, of course, requested a boatload of them, but time will tell whether or not we are able to get them. We had stopped taking waitlist names for the inks because we were told 'that's all she wrote'. But there is now hope that there will be more! If you'd like your name on the list, please call us back (maybe some of you made contact with Ranger and helped get the ball rolling). Again, no promises, but we like to be optimistic. :)

Just FYI, we already have the Winter series pads on pre-order, even though we don't know what they'll look like. It'll be a surprise for everyone!

Copic Marker Update

I just wanted to remind everyone that we now carry over 100 colors of Copic Markers. We carry the Ciao series, which have the same tips as the Sketch series, but are less expensive. On that note, Copic has increased their cost on the markers due to manufacturing increases accross the board. The increase took effect on August 1st, but we have held off on raising our marker prices in the store. We will be changing the price on our markers this weekend, but the Ciao markers are still a reasonable price for their quality at $4.79 each. Have questions about Copics? Katie and I are good ones to ask, as we both have been through some basic Copic training.

Ranger News

Some of you may have heard about the limited edition stamp pads that Tim Holtz released this past week. It was news to everyone (including retailers) on Thursday. Within an hour of hearing about them, our distributor, as well as Ranger themselves, were sold out. We were lucky enough to get a few on order for the store, but I think that will be all she wrote. We have several people on our wish list who would like them, so if you think you might, please call us soon to let us know. Once they're spoken for, we don't see being able to get any more.

On a brighter note, we have the three new colors of Jenni Bowlin for Ranger products! Speckled Egg, Weather Vane and Lavender Sachet are the three new colors. They are available in an ink pad, re-inker and paint dabber. We also received the Picket Fence Distress Stain, and may even have some in stock after today. We will continue to reorder this product, so don't worry if you didn't get one in the first round.

Playing Catch-Up

We have even more new products in this week. Yes, the list just keeps going and going and, well, you get the idea. We now have the fabric flowers from Basic Grey (happy to finally see these). These would work awesome as an accessory in addition to an embellishment. Some of the Tim Holtz District Market products are in... we have the 12x12 finished burlap panels. We also have his new 12x12 kraft pads and some embellishments.

There's a new Cricut magazine as well as a new Holiday idea book from Northridge Media. The newest Studio AE stamp is in from Technique Tuesday, called 'Family Is'. A box from Creative Imaginations came in with a bunch of new themed products, like Harry Potter goodies and the like, but I still haven't seen all of what's in there. There are also new themed papers and stickers from Paper House.

What else? Glad you asked! The new collections, as well as Hero-Arts-produced stamps, are in from Studio Calico. These stamps are moving fast! We also have (drum roll, please) about 2/3 of our order from Prima! We had to hide this stuff while we were putting it in the computer, because we knew the customers there would tear the box apart to see what was inside. But it's all out on the wall for everyone to enjoy!

Well, today is usually a day off for most people. For me, it's a catch-up day as well as a get-ready-for-school-day here at our house. Before I forget, we have some more new products to tell you about! 7 Gypsies new line, Global, just came in this week. This is an awesome travel-inspired line with 7G flair. They also have some new realistic rub-ons - very cool!

We R Memories also sent us the new Fall line... I love their owl-inspired 6x6 album (I think our customers will love it, too). We had a box in the foyer from Spellbinders, but I haven't had a chance to peek into that one, yet. Stay tuned!

Crate Paper, Teresa Collins and More!

We just received the latest from Crate Paper (love, love, love)! I noticed it's still waiting to be put on display (like it deserves), but we're working on getting that out very soon! Random, Farmhouse and more, this stuff is top notch!

We finally have Teresa Collins' products! We've ordered these in the past and they just haven't appeared. But it's here, and it's gorgeous. There are three new lines: World Traveler (my favorite), Haunted Hallows and Christmas Home. These are on the shelf, ready for you to take home.

We also have tons of new goodies from Maya Rd. There are new mini chipboard shapes, chipboard/acrylic books, and yes - new trims! There are new zipper trim colors as well as some beautiful flower trims.

On a side note, we also have 3 new full Cricut cartridges in the house, one of which was designed by Teresa Collins - what a coincidence! Check them out next time you're in.

The list goes on! We also received 7 new lines from Bo Bunny, and they're finally in the computer! The new lines include some of their best yet (in my opinion, at least). Et Cetera is right up my alley - I love the vintage and worn feel of this collection! Father Christmas and Blitzen cover both ends of the Christmas spectrum. Forever Fall and Garden Girl offer some amazing saturated colors. Sweet Tooth is an adorable food-inspired line that will make you crave sweets (well, at least so you can scrapbook the pictures of it). Finally, Welcome Home (also one of my favorites) uses browns, blues & greens to welcome you... Katie and I agree this would make a great mini album for a housewarming gift.

There are four new collections we ordered from 3 Bugs in a Rug. These lines stray a bit from what they've released in the past. We love them and hope you will, too. Bake Me a Cake is a sweet baking-inspired line, and Ashtyn is an adorable girl/teen line with a great variety of coordinating patterns. Deck the Halls is adorable, as is Under the Sea (sweet and salty all at once).

We also have many new basic theme papers in stock from Sugartree. These fill several requests for water, snow, etc. papers we've been looking for.

Last, but certainly not least, we have a couple new lines from Echo Park. The Apothecary Emporium is a lovely Halloween line, and Happy Days is bright and cheery. We purchaed everything with these lines, if that gives you any indication of just how cool these are.

Phew! With all of that said, there were still about 9 more boxes in the foyer when I left. I know for a fact that a few of them are more new collections, but we'll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned!

That's all I can say lately. The boxes have been pouring in, and we're working our fastest to get through them. Here's what came in this week so far:

We have the new lines from My Mind's Eye, and they're flying off the shelf! The latest, Lost & Found 2, is a hit with it's new color schemes (especially the yellow). There's also Lost & Found Christmas, which is just beautiful! There are matching chipboard and embellishments for all the lines. Their new Halloween line, Mischievous, is also awesome... It's orange, black & light blue - a great color combo! There are also several 6x6 coordinating paper pad sets which are great for card-makers.
7 Gypsies has a new collection, call Off the Wall. This line is unique... I love that there are silhouettes on each page (especially the one with the high tops). Leave it to 7G to come up with something this cool!

We have more Grant Studios paper by Grace Taylor. This round reminds me of 50s homemakers with tea... super cute!

We also have several new stacks from DieCuts with a View - Lemon Flower, Collage Musings, Lady Couture, Tradewinds and Tattered Time. They're all very relevant; very cool!

...that Angela put in my Design Team kit this month. They were from the bright, cheery, new Kaiser Crafts "Miss Nelly" collection and I loved it! So, I added 2 more pieces of patterned paper, a bit of cardstock, some chipboard embellishments, a sticker sheet, a few labels and then I went to work. I was able to make 3 pretty, fully embellished, 12"x12" layouts AND seven - that's right 7! - cards. All for less than $12.00. Wow, what a deal. Simple Stories and More!

We have the latest from Simple Stories - Baby Steps and Happy Day. This is the company that makes it simple to scrapbook! They are out on the shelf now.

We also have new colored flowers from Petaloo, as well as a new company in the house - FabScraps! This new vendor comes to us from South Africa, and (we're told) they're a big name there! We like it too, so we hope you check it out next time you're in. Very cool stuff, ladies!

Imaginisce has three new lines out, Geek is Chic (love this), a Fall and a Holiday line. They are cute and whimsy, as always, and come with tons of fun $1 stamps, great accessories, a full assortment.

SRM brings us new Tubes in addition to the original and the Wand. These things are great for goodie bags, showers, 'just because' moments and more! We have a display of fun ideas for the tubes set up this weekend. There are also all new clear stickers, as well as some giant crystals that work great with the Tubes.

American Crafts is also in the house - both Amy Tangerine's new products (these are adorable) and NightFall, Garden Cafe, even new Thickers! There are also new lines from Pebbles (now part of American Crafts) - an extension to their New Addition (baby) line, and Fresh Goods. We think you'll like what you see.

On my way out, I saw there were at least 7 more large boxes to open, like products from My Mind's Eye, Pioneer, Echo Park and more! Stay tuned for details...

Weekend Update

There are still so many boxes for us to get out on the shelf, but in the meantime, here's what you'll when you come in tomorrow...

We have a new set of lines from Ruby Rock-It (branded Bella this time around), Paper Boy and Paper Doll. These are great, all in bright colors and whimsical themes.

We have a bunch of new themed paper lines from Moxxie, like football, Zoofari, picnic, softball, baseball, one called Hometown Celebration, and Midnight Dreary (which is an amazing and different Halloween line).

Plus, we received a large shipment of SmashBooks and supplies! We have the three new books - Eco (green), International (yellow) and Simple (orange). We have a bunch of fun embellishments and goodies for your SmashBooks, as well!

In the past, there were idea books for titles and quotes, but none have been on the market in some time now. Well, there's a new book in town! Introducing Inspiration Station, by Betsy Flot. This book has it all - trust me, I've looked through it. Here's how Betsy describes her book:

It's Rollin' In...

We've got several new products in stock so far this week. We just received a shipment from KaiserCraft, and I love these new lines! Miss Nelly is totally floral and beautiful. My favorite of the show was Hunt & Gather, which is also here. I'm not normally a fan of bugs, but this paper covers everything about the outdoors, from tents to bugs and everything in between... Love it! We received more TJ stamp sets. These rubber cling stamps come in many themes, and we have a good sampling of their products for you to try. Karen Foster arrived and, as usual, there are tons of themes in stock. The newest is their school line, which covers the grades and plenty for the first day back (yes, it's almost here). We have a new company in stock, called Glimpses. They caught our eye at CHA with their Fight Like a Girl line of breast cancer awareness products - products that are hip and send a message. They also have a great military line that we added to our stash.

In other products, we have new inventory from Ranger! We received the Black Gesso from Claudine as well as the Snow Cap Mixative for alcohol inks. There are also new Surfaces, including tags in black and kraft to play with. Some of you may have seen a fun new trend in card-making - HoneyPop! This corrugated tissue paper comes in several colors, and works great for pop-up cards. Here's a video about the products if you're not familiar with them yet. We didn't pick up stamp sets, just the honeycomb paper. But we'd be happy to order any you're interested in.

Well, that's a lot so far, and UPS/FedEx haven't even stopped by yet today! Stay tuned for more new arrivals later this week!

Shoppers, Start your Engines!

It's official - we've already started receiving our CHA orders! Here are a few things that have arrived this week:

October Afternoon's Boarding Pass collection is an adorable grouping of international travel icons, all in their own style. The three newest lines from Authentique just arrived, and they're amazing! There's a new color theme as well as a Christmas and Halloween line. We think you'll love them (and you can check them out on their very own new display). We have a new coordinating album, paper and stickers from Grant Studios, designed by Grace Taylor - so cute (from a new company). The new Fran-tage products from Stampendous are in, as is the verdict - these things look so cool! I'm curious to see what you ladies are going to do with these new Mica Fragments, Shaved Ice, Aged Embossing Enamel and the like. There are tons of new books and magazines in this week (some flying off the shelves), like Cricut Magazine and Cricut Cards, Mini Albums, some Paper Crafts books, as well as some new Tweety Jill publications. There are tons of scrapbooking and stamping ideas to be had! We also have some new stamp sets from Tweety Jill. This is a new brand for us, and these sets look amazing! There are some new styles of punches from EK Success - these layering and garland punches are so cool! Plus, this just in - new Jolee's and Martha Stewart Halloween embellishments - love them!

You'll notice some changes in the store over the next couple weeks (I know, when don't we change things up). We like to keep it fresh! As we move out the beading inventory, we'll be moving products over to that area, and have already begun doing so. We are expanding our stamp supply area to accomodate the massive amount of new stamps coming in. Don't worry - we haven't moved things too far. We'll be happy to point you in the right direction. In the meantime, please pardon our clutter.

We've received even more new products last week! We have the new Victoria Gardens line form Echo Park (hello, beautiful). We have the full collection, which includes 6x6 pads with smaller versions of the line. There are at least four new lines in from Reminisce - a vintage Christmas line (this one really looks like old school wrapping paper), two Halloween lines and a Fall collection.

The new holiday clings and clear stamps are in from Stampendous, as well as those from Hero Arts! We also have the new QuicKutz/Lifestyles Summer release - think tropical thoughts! New Fall & Halloween stickers and papers arrived from Jolee's. We also have a shipment here from K & Company - it includes Fall & Halloween products, but something special as well... More Smash products! Woo hoo! We'll get to this as quickly as we can and call on our 'wish listers' to get their requests filled. Whatever's left will go out on the floor for everyone else to drool over. Enjoy!

Day 2 of CHA

Today was very productive and fun. Rush, rush, rush is sometimes the norm, and that I did. But we ordered tons (and I mean tons) more than I had planned. We went nuts at the Prima booth, American Crafts and October Afternoon (among others), but those had some of our favorite things. The girls were excited to meet some of their favorite scrapbook celebrities, and I got to meet some fun people on the show floor.

We unwound tonight at a show-sponsored event called Divas! We got there just in time for a wonderful buffet dinner, dessert and live music. There was a top 40 cover band as well as an Abba cover band! We danced and had fun with the photo opportunities for hours. What a fun way to wrap up the day.

Tonight we're preparing our final orders for the show so we can pack up and head back over in the morning. There's also a craft supershow in the same building (also part of CHA) that we hope to have time to visit. We ordered many new products that will ship as early as next week, so don't be surprised if you start seeing new product posts right after we get back!

CHA Day 1 of the Trade Show

Today was our first day on the show floor, and we literally hit the ground running (when don't we?!). Katie ran off to find Pink Paislee, but they moved... oh no! Angela made a b-line to Studio Calico (missed out on the freebies, but got to meet Kelly Purkey). I headed over to Bo Bunny to meet with our sales rep, and began placing a series of orders that would soon lead us to about 16 different orders completed. Whew! We have so much more to do tomorrow, but saw some very cool products and project ideas today throughout the show floor. Tim Holtz chatted with us about his new totes (I think you'll love these), and we ran into many CHA friends throughout the day. Katie and Angela are diggin' Dyan Reaveley from Ranger and her new stamps. Amy Tangerine is a great new line from American Crafts that the girls are excited about, and Teresa Collins' new releases are wonderful. We all love Echo Park, October Afternoon and Pink Paislee (and ordered pretty much everything). My favorite of the day was Et Cetera from Bo Bunny (I know you guys will love this one).

Well folks, we made it to Chicago, and we're getting ready to get some rest before a big day on the show floor tomorrow. We had fun taking in a couple events tonight, including munching samples from local restaurants (I always try something new) and visiting Oompa Loompas (while eating delicious desserts). Tomorrow we start our ordering frenzy, and we won't hold back. We look forward to sharing our day with you, so stay tuned for more. Keep in mind, we stay up late sometimes and posts are available when we can keep our eyes open long enough. :)

New Product Update

We're getting ready to head to CHA in Chicago on Monday, but I thought I'd offer a couple updates before we hit the road. We have a couple SmashBook products in stock this week, but they won't last long (book bands, clips, some smashmarks, etc.). The last update I had from the manufacturer indicated we may not see the books again until August or September (I know, crazy, right?). But we'll keep everyone updated as we get products in.

We have, sitting in our foyer, an amazing new brand of paper. I have only seen glimpses of it, and I bought the entire collection without even seeing it all. Here's the scoop... Margie Romney-Aslett left her previous line (Girls' Paperie from Advantus) and started a new gig with 4 others. Authentique is the result and, so far, we think it's awesome! Hopefully we'll be able to get it out for everyone to see this weekend. We are anxiously awaiting the full view!

We also received a huge shipment of custom school (and local venue) papers and embellishments. We'll be adding them to our new & improved custom paper section! Be sure to look through them next time you're in!

As always, we'll attempt to offer updates from CHA (although we are often too tired to blog after a long day, but we do love sharing). We look forward to seeing all the new products we'll be able to share with you! Until then...

Weekend Crop Update

We are getting closer to one of our craziest, busiest weekends! Join us 7/22 for the beginning of our Weekend Crop! We have just opened up the remaining seats to individual days and full tables. You can crop for the entire weekend for $65 including food, snacks, prizes, etc. You can also crop Friday only for $20, Saturday only for $35, Sunday only for $10, or any combination of those days! If you'd like a full 8-foot table, you can upgrade for an additional $10 per person.

We will also be participating in a Shoppe Hop that weekend, and will be welcoming some new visitors to the store. Plus, Jen Starr will be at Scrappy Chic on Sat 7/23 to teach some Ranger classes! Tim Holtz fans and those who want to learn all about ink will not want to miss this opportunity to take classes from one of Ranger's own educators!

New Cricut Cartridges Are Here

It's been a while, but ProvoCraft has released a few new Cricut cartridges. These include some project-based cartridges, like Flower Shoppe (love this one) and Word Collage (I can think of so many places around the house to use this one or as a page background). We also have Phrases, Summer Celebrations and Autumn Celebrations. Just in time for our next Cricut Club Crop!

Sometimes when I see a layout, I think, "Wow, that's a really great idea - I've gotta try that!" And sometimes I wonder, "What is the point?" Well, it seems that sewing is everywhere in scrapbooking these days and I just love to sew, so I decided to try sewing over the letters in my title. What do you think? Is it a great idea, or is it silly? Either way, the new Margarita line from American Crafts is a hit! Just love the bright, cheery colors. It's so versatile; great for travel and summer and, well just about anything happy and bright. Whether you decide to sew on your pages or not, you've gotta give this line a try.

Summer Memories

Hello Scrappy Chic fans :) Its Liz from the design team here to share a couple layouts featuring some fun new products from the store! First up is a mix of two lines from My Minds Eye - Hip Hooray and Lime Twist!
I love that MME uses a lot of the same color tones in their paper lines making it easy to mix lines old and new. Its a great way to use some older stuff and freshen it up with a few new products as well.

I was inspired my Fawn's post a couple weeks ago where she used these folded flowers. I will tell you that after trying to make perfect folds I went right to the store and bought the Tim Holtz die. So much easier! You get two sizes in one die!

My second layout features paper from Simple Stories. I believe this line is new to Scrappy Chic - and definitely new to me - but I am in love!

The colors are great for summer! The red and turquoise make it a fresh color combo but it also works great with my vintage photos (circa 1983!).

Here is a close up of my Basic Grey chipboard hearts. I covered them in paper and inked the edges. The scale of the hearts are great as well!
